Why choose to study with Email Counselling Academy?
It's unfortunately very common for traditional online counselling training courses to focus heavily on apapting skills to offer live video call counselling sessions. This is partly due to most online counselling courses having been created pre-pandemic, when it was often stigmatised and much more unusual to offer video sessions and the focus of these courses was to help counsellors adapt skills to work remotely with video calls.
Sadly though, this often left therapeutic writing and email therapy as just a short add on.
I've met so many counsellors who've done these traditional online training courses and left feeling ill equiped with very little confidence to offer their clients email sessions.
I set up Email Counselling Academy (ECA) to offer a go to place for fellow counsellors to learn and practice specialist skills in email counselling.

When I first started studying for my post graduate diploma in counselling in 2014 I was very sceptical about Email counselling. I wondered, was it proper, could writing back and forth really work ...
Fast forward to 2017, when I gave email therapy a go as a client. Why? Honestly, because a colleague challenged me in my sceptical thinking. I used to be convinced talking therapy was more effective than writing.
OMG my experience as a client was incredible and I quickly became a true believer in the power of email counselling which led to me completing specialist training in Email Counselling in 2018.
