What is Email Counselling?
Email counselling is a specialist way of working with clients where, instead of meeting for traditional talking therapy, counsellor and client write to each other. Therapeutic email exchanges usually take place once a week using a secure and confidential platform, creating a dedicated space for reflection, connection and therapeutic support.

For some clients, writing can feel easier than speaking. The process allows time to think, process feelings and find the right words without the pressure of responding in the moment. Many people value the flexibility, accessibility and depth that email counselling can offer.

As a distinct therapeutic modality, email counselling requires specialist skills, knowledge and ethical awareness. It is much more than simply sending emails; it is a thoughtful and intentional way of building a therapeutic relationship through writing.

Fantastic accessible well thought out email counselling course. I’m so pleased I attended, it allowed me to be able to provide counselling to people who would have struggled to access support otherwise.

Dianne Foy, Counsellor
I joined the course because I was curious about email counselling, but unsure whether it was something I'd be able to use in practice. The course helped with both improving my understanding of what it was all about, as well as equipping me with the skills to do it myself.

Kathryn Wright, Counsellor
The training with Chloe was exactly what I needed to get up and running with email counselling in my practice. Chloe is a very responsive trainer, and her willingness to share her own experiences has been invaluable. I can't recommend the training highly enough.
